Salt Water Flush

good for healthy colon and stop constipation

Basically:

Drink this; mix one table spoon or two tea spoons (14.2 ml) of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt in one litre of warm pure water.

This is a natural laxative.

Regarding the amounts; the idea is to get the Salt water Flush (SWF) to be the same salinity to your body. When it is the same your body will reject it and anything else in your bowels!

The exact amounts are not a perfect science, find out what works for you. It would seem prudent to start on one teaspoon per litre of water and if that does not work increase the amount of salt in small increments until you find the right balance.

You don’t need to be concerned if you fail to flush after drinking the concoction. It is only two teaspoons of salt in the first place. The average allowable salt intake is about two teaspoons per day. Most Americans are probably taking in more salt from their unhealthy fast food diet than the amount of salt in SWF.

Here is the list of Benefits you can achieve when doing the Salt Water Flush

  • Minimise pain in inflamed muscles
  • Provides relief on sore throats
  • Balances electrolytes/mineral levels in your body
  • Clears up digestive problems
  • Creates an optimal pH level
  • Balances your hormones
  • Provides trace minerals
  • Cleans wounds
  • Cleanses the colons and forces out toxins
  • Contracts muscles in the digestive tract
  • Facilitates metabolic processes

SWF is especially recommended for people experiencing constipation and irregularity.

Incidentally, a 2010 study showed saltwater could possibly clear the colon when paired with certain yoga poses.

Before eating in the morning, and so on an empty stomach (it’s imperative to be on an empty stomach), mix 1 tablespoon of sea salt with one litre  of lukewarm water. Sea salt or Himalayan salt is recommended. Do not use table salt or iodised salt it won’t work!

You can squeeze a small amount of lemon to take away the salty taste!

Drink the mixture quickly on an empty stomach, and in a few minutes, you’ll probably feel an urge to go to the bathroom.

Do this in the morning and in the evening, and make sure to stay home near the bathroom for a while after the cleanse. You may need to go to the bathroom multiple times.

IF IT DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU;

HERE’S WHY:

Basically:

You used too little or too much salt

You used the wrong kind of salt, and

You did not take it on an empty stomach

1 You used too much salt. Never use too much salt. Admittedly, it is easy to mistake the teaspoon measurement to tablespoon. Be careful to stick to two teaspoons of sea salt, and you won’t have any problem with flushing.

Not enough salt. The idea is that you need to use the exact amount of salt as instructed in the recipe. But the common problem is not with the use of less salt since most people start with two teaspoons. The problem usually arose from the water volume. Some people find it hard to chug a litre of water in one go. You need to drink the whole litre in 5 minutes. It doesn’t taste that nice taste so there is a temptation not to drink it all. Drink it all and quickly.

2. The wrong salt. It has to be sea salt or Himalayan pink salt.

This cleansing routine will only work when you use natural sea salt that is unprocessed. They are usually grey-brown in colour. You can also use Himalayan pink salt as it is natural and full of nutrients. Sticking to sea salt has its reasons. The mixture is flushed out of our system because it has the same salinity as our blood hence our body’s rejection. With the work of diffusion and osmosis, the salt water concoction will only pass through your system along with the toxins and gunk from our colons to prevent the salt from harming our body.

3. Your stomach is full when you did the SWF. If you consume the salt water immediately after eating, the food that you ate will absorb the water instead of flushing it out of your system.

Frequency

When you flush all that horrible waste ,bad bacteria and toxins out of your system, you also flush out good bacteria. Your body needs time to restore the balance of good bacteria.

MORE INFO:

While they’ve existed forever, salt water flushes have gained notoriety as more people have started to do “detoxes.” Not familiar with the master cleanse? The master cleanse (also called the “lemonade diet”) has been in the media over the past few years, since supposedly some celebrities turn to this “hack” to quickly lose weight for upcoming roles.

The master cleanse is a liquid-only juice fast, which means it’s extremely low in calories and also lacks any dietary fibre, which is necessary for healthy digestion. When you only consume liquids for a certain amount of time and don’t actually eat any foods with fiber — vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds or beans, for example — you’re likely to have a lot of trouble going to the bathroom.

During the master cleanse, people have a daily detox drink — only a concoction of water, fresh lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

The result? For many people, this kind of juice fast can cause constipation, low energy and bloated stomach (not to mention other complications from consuming too little nutrients/calories). Fiber is partially responsible for igniting the process of peristalsis, which is the series of muscle contractions in our digestive tracts that allow us to poop — exactly the reason that people with low-fiber, highly processed diets often suffer from constipation.

Unfortunately, this is pretty much the opposite of what most people hope to accomplish when they sign up for a “detox.” This is where the salt water flush comes in. It basically forces your digestive system to release stored waste in the toxins, however little (or a lot) there might be.

HYDRATION

As well as using salt water as a flush, it is also used as a way of getting electrolytes back into the body.

Research has found that over consuming plain water can cause the body to become ‘diluted’ and therefore less able to function at optimum levels. In order to correct this and restore much needed electrolytes and minerals to the body, drinking a small amount of salt water each day is the perfect way to keep the body hydrated and healthy.

Therefore, in conclusion, when drinking saltwater this results in the body being better equipped to absorb the water you are taking in more effectively.

Many individuals advocate the use of saltwater each and every day to keep the body cleansed and as healthy as can be. The idea is to flush the body of contaminants, toxins and any other unwanted materials before they can cause problems within the body and potentially harm you. As brilliant detox drink, it’s really no wonder why some recommend drinking the solution each morning, although there can be some issues with this method so be aware!

This ‘treatment,' or even cleanse if you plan to do so for a limited period of time in order to restore the body to optimum health levels, has been used for many many years. The side effects are valid concerns as to why it may not be wise to continue prolonged usage, however these are very minuscule in comparison to many other commercial colon-cleansing drugs, diuretics and laxatives. Therefore, if you are aware of the measurements you can take in order to ensure drinking saltwater each morning is as safe as can be, the benefits are absolutely worthwhile the efforts!

OTHER BENEFITS OF DAILY SALT DRINK

Hydration.

Better digestion.

Consuming salt allows the amylase, present within saliva, to be more efficiently released. Amylase is important for breaking down the food in your mouth, beginning the process of digestion from the moment you start chewing.

Not only does salt help with digestion in the mouth region, it also encourages the intestinal tract and liver to secrete more digestive fluids more often. This results in a more effective digestive system and the faster breaking down of the foods you consume.

Reduced inflammation.

If the body begins to suffer from constant low salt-intake certain enzymes are released and levels of some hormones begin to increase. If this occurs within the body then inflammation is said to start, which in turn heightens the likelihood of many chronic diseases presenting themselves such as: metabolic syndrome, cognition loss and cardiovascular disease.

Increased quality of sleep.

Salt has said to be able to lower stress levels in various individuals when consumed on a regular basis, and therefore may be able to increase the likelihood of achieving better quality sleep as well as better moods.

In addition to this, salt can help in raising the body’s oxytocin levels. By doing this the person in question should begin to feel more relaxed, at ease and have a higher sense of wellbeing as opposed to others or beforehand.

Detoxification.

Being rich in minerals, saltwater can be perfect for helping the body to detox. Not only this, it can increase the frequency of both bowel movements and urination therefore increasing the speed at which toxins are leaving the body.

Note: Saltwater in excess may have extreme detoxifying effects such as vomiting. This is not a recommended method of cleansing the body and therefore should be avoided at all costs.

Greater bone health.

A popular idea concerning saltwater is that it can be used to strengthen the bones when consuming frequently, thus preventing the development of certain conditions such as osteoporosis. The idea stems from saltwater being high in minerals, as well as having the perfect alkalinising effects.

Skin health.

The chromium found within salt is particularly useful for fighting acne, as well as avoiding and reducing the severity of skin conditions. While, on the other hand, the sulphur present can keep the skin both smooth and cleansed. On top of this, zinc has also been stated to be effective in boosting the immune system and regulating the activity of the skin’s oil glands.

Improved sexual libido.

According to some people across the globe, saltwater is an effective and much used remedy for improving a person’s sexual libido and sexuality.
